In Gadebusch, a 74-year-old man was victim of brazen fraudsters who repaired his roof without a job and claimed an amount of 31,000 euros. The self -proclaimed craftsmen, presumably from Eastern Europe, appeared on Monday without being asked and immediately started work. Despite repeated request, they remained vague and did not present a cost estimate. Ultimately, the senior gave in the high amount.

After realizing that he had been ripped off, the man informed the police. The criminal police have now started the investigation and urges such dubious offers. They advise you to be skeptical about unexpected visits to craftsmen, to always request written offers and, if necessary, seek help from neighbors or confidants.
