Wrong police officers in Ratzeburg: Seniors pushed for handing over money!

In the Ratzeburg area, fraudsters who pretend to be police officers recently struck and have targeted older people. The masterminds informed their victims about alleged burglars nearby and claimed that the called people were on a list of potential victims. In order to protect them from supposed losses, they asked the senior citizens to deposit their valuables and cash with the police.

On Tuesday afternoon (April 8th, 2025), the fraudsters managed to move a 94-year-old woman to hand over several thousand euros. An approximately 20-year-old woman with dark, raised hair and tanned complexion picked up the money directly at the senior citizen's place of residence. The police ask for information from the population, especially people who observed suspicious things in the area of Möllner Straße and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Ratzeburg on Tuesday. She urgently warns about going into print on the phone, revealing personal information or keeping high cash amounts at home.
