Almost 900 speed violations in Wuppertal - police control reveals violations

Last week the police in Wuppertal carried out a focus on speed. This measure was mainly aimed at busy roads such as the L74 and L418 as well as on streets near facilities such as kindergartens and retirement homes.

Although it had rained all day long, a total of 890 speed violations were found at around 16,000 measurements. Of these violations, 114 led to the fact that the fine advertisements were issued, since the permitted top speed inside and outside the village was exceeded by more than 21 km/h.

The most serious violation was found on the L74, where a vehicle was traveling at a speed of 101 km/h, although only 50 km/h were allowed.

In addition to the speed violations, other offenses such as driving without a valid driving license, the non-straps or dangerous overtaking maneuvers were punished, but to a lesser extent.

The traffic police will continue to monitor compliance with the speed rules in changing locations in the area of the Bergisches Städtedreieck.
