In a dramatic accident in Bonn-Nordstadt, a driver lost control of her vehicle on the night of May 1st. The 26-year-old came off 555 from the Autobahn and landed in the green area of ​​the Bonn-Nord motorway junction, surrounded by dense branches and trees. Despite the vulnerable situation, she managed to free herself out of the badly damaged car.

The fire brigade and emergency services were alerted, but the driver could not precisely describe their exact location. Until the rescue workers arrived, she was looked after by the motorway police. She was taken to a Bonn hospital with serious injuries. In order to recover the vehicle, the rescuers had to proceed with a chainsaw before the car was finally pulled out of the thick undergrowth with a winch and handed over to a towing company. A total of 26 emergency services were used for about an hour.
