In Oberursel-Bhefstadt there was a dramatic garbage cane fire early on Friday morning that affected a parked car. An attentive resident noticed the flames and alerted the fire brigade. When it arrived, the large waste bin was already burning, and a Ford Transit nearby was damaged by the heat. The damage amounts to around 2,500 euros. The investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
Also in Oberursel-Bomersheim, a vehicle theft was prevented on Thursday evening when a witness caught two men, as they fought around a Mercedes C-Class. The perpetrators, both of whom are around 26 years old and southern European origin, fled after they were noticed. The police ask for clues to the men.
Another offense occurred in Bad Homburg, where an e-bike worth several thousand euros was stolen from an underground car park. The owner had safely completed the bike there on Wednesday evening, but when he returned on Thursday, the bike was gone. The police started the investigation.
