On Wednesday night, a shoe store in the square Q1 in Mannheim was the goal of an arson attack. At around 1:30 a.m., an unknown perpetrator put a stack of cardboard and paper on fire. The flames that struck up to two meters high were immediately fought by an alarmed police patrol with fire extinguishers. The fire brigade was also quickly consulted to prevent the fire from spreading to the building. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but an estimated property damage in the shoe store was caused by the heat and the smoke.
