Fire drama in Rostock: Lightning -fast emergency services save residential building!

In the night of February 13, 2025, the Rostock fire brigade was alerted to a dramatic operation in Stephanstrasse in Steintor suburb. When the first emergency services arrived, two passenger cars burned in a carport in a carport. Despite immediate extinguishing attempts, the fire quickly spread to the adjacent residential building with four residential units, favored by the facade insulation system, which enabled a quick flame expansion to the roof structure and the first floor.

Several fire troops from the professional and the volunteer fire brigade and four beam ladder fought more against the flames. “Fire from” could be reported around four o'clock, but a fire guard remains on site until the morning. The firefighters had to struggle with icy temperatures that let the extinguishing water freeze, which turned the site into a dangerous ice rink. A firefighter was slightly injured in the work, while the only person in the burning building was able to save himself independently and unharmed.
