On the night of April 24, 2025, a fire broke out in a small van in Nickern on Michaelisstrasse. The Lockwitz district fire brigade was quickly on site and initiated the first extinguishing measures. Later, two groups of the fire and rescue station 5, who worked under respiratory protection, supported the fire with two jet pipes and extinguishing foam.

Fortunately, no people were harmed. The police have investigated the cause of the fire. The rapid and effective measures of the fire brigade prevented worse and ensured that the flames could be quickly brought under control.
