Fire brigade use in Neukirchen: Gas exit after an excavator accident!

On Tuesday afternoon, an alarming gas leakage occurred on Dürerstrasse when an excavator damaged a gas line during civil engineering work. At 11:58 a.m., the fire trucks Neukirchen and Vluyn were alerted after dense gas smell in the area. The fire brigade reacted promptly: with extensive security measures they secured the danger area and ensured fire protection.

In order to rule out possible risks, the fire brigade evacuated three adjacent houses as a precaution. Two respiratory protection teams monitor the situation with gas warning devices and luckily they could not find any increased gas concentrations. While the emergency services worked tirelessly, they also provided the evacuated residents and provided them with drinks. After about two hours, the emergency services finally managed to stop the gas leak and defuse the situation.
