Fire brigade use in Veen: driver after an accident with hydraulic device freed

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred in Veen, in which two people were injured. A driver had to be released by the fire brigade with hydraulic rescue equipment after two vehicles collided in the intersection of Sonsbecker Straße.

The fire brigade Sonsbeck, supported by the Hamb unit, as well as the emergency services and the police, were alerted around 4:58 p.m. While the emergency services moved into the Grunewaldweg initially reported, the site was finally discovered a few hundred meters further behind the municipal boundary. The fire brigade took over the initial care of the injured and ensured fire protection, while the batteries of the accident vehicles were disconnected.

For the rescue work, Sonsbecker Straße had to be completely blocked. The entire mission, in which around 40 firefighters were involved, was completed at 6:25 p.m.
