Large deployment in Plettenberg: Fire brigade saves warehouse before collapsing!
On Friday afternoon, the fire department Plettenberg was called for an alarming use. Local residents had heard disturbing noises from a warehouse on Herscheider Straße and switched on the police. The dramatic situation was confirmed on site: a warehouse about 10 x 15 meters tall showed massive structural damage and threatened to collapse. Fortunately, there were no people in the building, so that the emergency services could concentrate on securing the danger area. Herscheider Straße was immediately completely closed between the upper town of the roundabout and the confluence with the regerweg.
In a rapidly coordinated campaign with the Plettenberg building authority, the fire brigade used a diving pump over the aerial ladder to pump water and relieve the roof structure. After around 30 minutes, the measures showed success: the risk of collapse could be significantly reduced. Finally, the fire brigade locked the danger site large to enable further structural security measures.
