Held at night: Local residents delete glowing roof fire in Undenheim!

In the night from Friday to Saturday, a single-family house on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Undenheim was damaged by a suspected fireworks. Between 02:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. the resident heard a loud bang and discovered remnants of a New Year's wet after looking in front of his house. A glimmering area could be seen on the wooden cladding of the roof gable, which immediately alerted it.

Thanks to his quick reaction with a garden hose, the resident could effectively extinguish the fire and thus prevent a roof truss fire. The fire brigade Undenheim then examined the area with a thermal imaging camera, but found no other embers. The Oppenheim police have initiated investigations and asks for information from witnesses who know something about the incident or the perpetrators. The damage to property is low, but the situation could have ended much worse.
