On Friday morning, a devastating fire broke out in a garage in Bergheimer Strasse, which seriously injured a 48-year-old. The fire ignited at around 10.30 a.m. for reasons that have so far been unexplained in the garage used as a workshop and quickly reached several objects. In a courageous attempt to bring the burning objects outdoors, the man suffered serious injuries.

A fateful excavator driver who happened to come by poured sand on the burning things and thus suffocated the flames. The volunteer fire brigade then had their hands full to ventilate the very smoky building. The property damage incurred is estimated at around 25,000 euros, while the police continue to investigate the causes of the fire.
