Heroic deed in Koblenz: Zimmerlers save six people from flames!
On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, a fire broke out in an apartment building on Kapuzinerstrasse, Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein around 9 a.m. The two carpenters Jan Vockel and Louis Marx, who worked on the opposite side of the street, reacted immediately. After Vockel had made the emergency call, they heard screams from the building. They resolved a crane to save a total of six people in two missions from the burning building before the fire brigade arrived.
On April 16, 2025, Vockel and Marx were honored for their brave use in the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts. Kurt Krautscheid, President of the Chamber of Crafts, and other guests of honor such as the mayor of Koblenz, Ulrike Mohrs, paid tribute to the selfless courage of the two men and presented them with culinary delights and gifts with culinary delicacies.
