Cellar fire in Gelsenkirchen-Horst: one person injured!

On Wednesday evening, a basement fire broke out in a house on the street "Am Bowengarten" in the Gelsenkirchen district of Horst. The Gelsenkirchen fire brigade was alerted at 6:08 p.m. and found dense smoke when they arrived. The fire fighting was immediately initiated and the building was evacuated. A resident suffered flue gas poisoning and received medical help on site.

25 firefighters from different units were deployed, while the ELE (Emscher Lippe Energie GmbH) made the building in power to avoid additional dangers. At around 7:40 p.m., the fire site was checked with the help of a thermal imaging camera, and the criminal police took over the examination of the cause of the fire. The mission officially ended at 8:44 p.m.
