New emergency pastor for Main-Kinzig: A glimmer of hope in times of crisis!
On Friday, May 16, a solemn service will take place at 4 p.m. in the Evangelical Church in Langenselbold, in which 15 new volunteer emergency pastors are officially sent to their service. These committed helpers have undergone an intensive 100-hour training, led by the emergency chaplain Till M. Wisseler and supported by the DRK district association Gelnhausen-Schlicht, with financial support from the Main-Kinzig district.
Emergency pastoral care is an important part of psychosocial emergency care (PSNV) and becomes active in times of great crises, for example in the death of a relative or in the event of serious accidents. The pastors work hand in hand with emergency services, fire brigade and police. "In moments deepest shocks, it is crucial that those affected are not left alone," explains Wisseler. The solemn posting is public and invites interested parties to be part of this moving moment.
