Terrible accident on B 49: two injured and hours of closure!

In the morning of January 31, 2025, around 6:25 a.m. on the B 49 between Neuhäusel and Horressen there was a spectacular traffic accident, in which two people were injured. A vehicle that was traveling towards Koblenz collided after an overtaking process with an oncoming car. The driver lost control, raced from the street and overturned into a ditch.

The alarmed fire brigade of the Montabaur community was only able to free the trapped person who was trapped from his vehicle with heavy equipment. The other person involved in the accident suffered minor injuries. Both injuries were medical care on site and further examinations were brought into surrounding hospitals. The B 49 remained fully blocked during the accident recording and the fire brigade operation for about an hour, which led to considerable disorders in the morning rush hour. Later the traffic was directed past the scene of the accident.
