Heavy accident rescue: Fire Brigade Aurich fights for the life of a driver

On Saturday afternoon, a serious traffic accident occurred on Brockzeteler Straße. A man was caught in his vehicle after colliding with a tree. The fire brigades Brockzetel, Middels and Sandhorst as well as emergency services and police were alerted around 3:25 p.m. The emergency services found the car in a deepening on site.

The fire brigade secured the vehicle with a stabilization system and ensured fire protection, while paramedics began immediately with the first supply of the responsive driver. Fortunately, the airbags were only slightly injured. However, the special construction of the car was a challenge. Therefore, severe hydraulic rescue devices had to be used to remove the roof of the vehicle and free the man. After more than 45 minutes of exhausting work, the emergency services finally managed to save the driver, who was then taken to the hospital with an ambulance.
