Serious accident in Kaufbeuren: 17-year-olds recorded by small vans

In the early morning of January 31, 2025, Kaufbeuren experienced a shocking accident: a 17-year-old pedestrian was hit by a van and trapped under the vehicle. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when the girl crossed Apple Tranger Strasse next to a pedestrian crossing. The fire brigade was quickly on hand and had to raise the vehicle to recover the trapped teenager.

The young woman was initially classified as life -threatening, but after a medical examination in the hospital, it turned out that she had suffered moderate injuries. The reaction of the 65-year-old driver of the small van, who suffered a shock, was also dramatic. During the rescue work and the accident recording, Apfeltranger Straße remained completely closed until around 10:00 a.m., with around 30 emergency services of the fire brigade, emergency services and police being involved. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is currently underway.
