Senior bounces into Windeck against Opel at an excessive speed
On Monday afternoon, around 1:10 p.m., crashed into Windeck: two cars collided frontally on the main street in the Dattenfeld district. An 88-year-old Mercedes driver was on the road at an excessive speed, contrary to the permitted direction of travel, and rammed an Opel, directed by a 37-year-old Windecker. In the shocking accident, the two occupants of the Opel suffered serious injuries, while the older driver was only slightly injured.
The fire brigade had to cut open the Opel to save the injured woman. All participants were immediately taken to surrounding hospitals. Because of the collision that catapulted the Opel against a power box, the electricity was parked for safety reasons in the area. The property damage is estimated at around 30,000 euros. The rescue work of the badly damaged vehicles lasted until late in the afternoon, while the police continue to examine the exact circumstances of the accident. The senior from Sankt Augustin is now faced with the suspicion of negligent bodily harm.
