On Saturday evening, the Situation at Karlsruhe main station escalated, when the police were forced to intervene against aggressive fans of Eintracht Frankfurt. There was an acute risk of a discussion between rival fan groups. The officials carried out extensive measures to prevent possible riots.

around 10:00 p.m. up to 300 hooded Frankfurt fans rose from a connection train in Durlach and unsettled the surroundings because they were apparently armed with knives. On arrival in the city center, there was threatening behavior, which resulted in immediate police countermeasures. Thanks to a quick reaction from the federal and state police, the applied fans could be pushed back without injuries or disorders in rail traffic.

The police Karlsruhe submitted a criminal complaint as a result of the threatening situation for serious breach of the peace. So far, no injured or injuries have reported. Despite the tense situation, other locations remained without further incidents.
