Border control in Hörbranz: drug and driving license withdrawn!

On Monday, April 14th, an unpleasant surprise for two colleagues from Switzerland and Turkey was revealed at the Hörbranz border crossing (BAB 96). The two men, a 38-year-old Turk and a 22-year-old Swiss, were stopped by the federal police when they were on the way to work in Munich with a van. The shock: The Turkish driver did not have a valid driving license and the Swiss had drugs in his luggage.

Control started with a suspicious smell that got the official into the nose. Despite the initial statements of not having any drugs with them, the police found a bag of cannabis flowers in the Swiss belt bag. This led to advertisements for violating the Consumer Cannabis Act and the Tax Code. The man was finally allowed to go again, while the driver has to expect legal consequences. Another sharp view of the control would have exposed this work trip as a lesson in terms of law!
