Border controls in BW: 7,724 Unauthorized entry until March 2025!

At the instructions of the Federal Minister of the Interior, the federal police have temporarily carried out internal boundary controls at the Landseigen Schengenbenbenzen since September 16, 2024. In the area of the Stuttgart Federal Police Directorate, which includes all of Baden-Württemberg, astonishing 7.724 unauthorized entry were recorded during this period until March 31, 2025-4,552 at the Swiss border and 3,172 on French.

In addition, the police arrested 80 suspected smugglers (48 on the Swiss and 32 at the French border) and made a total of 840 criminal processes (491 at the border with Switzerland and 349 to France). These measures, which are necessary to strengthen internal security and to combat irregular secondary migration, ensure tension at the limits and show the determination of the authorities to rigorously against these challenges.
