On Tuesday afternoon, May 20, 2025, a 50-year-old Turk by the federal police was arrested on Autobahn 52 in Niederkrüchten-Elmpt. The man who traveled as a passenger in a car was checked in the temporary reintroduced border controls. When checking his personal details, it turned out that he was sought by the Regensburg public prosecutor's office with an enforcement recruitment order for falsification of documents.

The convict had to pay a fine of 8,400 euros or to pay a 60-day replacement imprisonment. Since he was unable to pay the fine, he was arrested on site. After completing the police measures, he was taken to the office in Kempen and brought to prison in Willich from there.
