Large alarm at Karlsruhe Central Station: Police against violent fans!

On Saturday evening, the Karlsruhe main station became the scene of a massive police operations when fans of the Eintracht Frankfurt football club might be involved. Around 250 to 300 hooded Frankfurt supporters got out of a connection train at Durlach train station and, armed with knives, threatened to act violently on the way to the city center. The police had to intervene and push the group back into the train station and the waiting train.

The officials of the federal and state police were on alert and carried out extensive controls to prevent confrontation with other fans. However, there were further incidents during the return trip, including property damage and the abuse of emergency aid. A criminal complaint against the Frankfurt fans is examined for suspected serious breach of the peace. The investigation is already underway.
