On Saturday afternoon, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A1 motorway, which was classified as a manv (mass attack by injuries) due to the number of injured people. The control center was alerted at 12:18 p.m. when there was an accident with several vehicles between the posthausen and Grundbergsee junctions towards Hamburg. The Sottrum fire brigade was quickly called to support and immediately set off. In this incident, a total of four vehicles were involved.

Fortunately, all people from the vehicles involved had been able to free themselves and were looking for protection behind the guardrails. According to the fire brigade, which had moved out with two vehicles and a total of 13 forces, arrived at the scene of the accident. There were only small amounts of operating substances on site, which were usually immediately absorbed by the firefighters. In addition, the batteries of the vehicles were disconnected to prevent potential fire risk and to ensure safety at the scene of the accident.

When the emergency services arrived, the organizational director of the emergency services and the emergency doctor were sent to the scene of the accident. These immediately accepted the injured and delivered first aid on site. A total of seven people were injured, but did not have to be hospitalized because their injuries were classified as not life -threatening. In addition to the fire brigade, the emergency services were also on site with seven ambulances and two emergency vehicles from different locations, including Sottrum, Rotenburg, Zeven and Achim. The police had also rushed to the scene of the accident with several vehicles to regulate the traffic and document the incident. Details about the causes of the accident or the amount of the damage are currently not known on the part of the fire brigade.

While the processes were still regulated after the accident, the next alarm was not long in coming. Just four hours after the first assignment, the Sottrum local fire brigade was alerted again, this time by phone to remove a tree that had crossed a telephone line through a broken trunk and hovered over a street. Together with the Rotenburg fire brigade, the emergency services went to the Fährhof district, where the tree was removed piece by piece using a turntable ladder.

Overall, the Sottrum fire brigade had already been called for six missions this week. The spectrum of the missions ranged from a supposed fire to technical assistance to the door opening.
