Large raid in the Rhineland: illegal cannabis plantations excavated!

Völklinger Straße 49, 40221 Düsseldorf, Deutschland - The investigation against an organized grouping of Albanian perpetrators in North Rhine-Westphalia have achieved a dramatic highlight! Since November 2024, the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) and the central and contact point for the persecution of organized crimes (ZEOS NRW) have been investigating gang-based trade in cannabis. When searching at four locations, the investigators came across professionally operated, illegal cannabis plantations and secured more than 6,000 cannabis plants as well as valuable evidence such as data carriers.

Six suspects between the ages of 20 and 50 were temporarily arrested. Now an investigative judge decides on possible arrest warrants against the men of Albanian descent. Particularly alarming: The illegally operated plantations consume around 2 million kilowatt hours of energy per year - this corresponds to the electricity requirement of around 400 households! The investigation continues in full swing.
