On Thursday afternoon, May 16, a fire broke out in a hall of a disposal company on Dissener Strasse in Versmold. The flames that raged in a warehouse for waste paper required a massive use of the fire brigade, which fought against the fire until night.

Due to the strong smoke development, the residents were alerted via a warning app and asked to close windows and doors. So far, the exact causes of the fire are unclear, as well as the amount of the damage caused by property. The criminal police took up the investigation and confiscated the fire location.
