Large apartment fire in Döhren: Fire brigade saves four people!

On Thursday morning, a devastating apartment fire broke out in the Döhren district, which called on the Hanover fire brigade. From 07:40 a.m., around 40 emergency services fought against the blazing flames on the 2nd floor of an apartment building on Suthwiesenstrasse. The resident, a 75-year-old, was able to save himself independently, but breathed dangerous flue gases. Three other people were saved from adjacent apartments with the help of a turntable ladder, while the staircase was wrapped in thick smoke.

The fire brigade was able to quickly control the fire, but the apartment is now completely burned out and uninhabitable. The resident was taken to the hospital for an examination, while the other affected people were luckily unscathed. Due to the considerable damage, the building was temporarily separated from the power grid. The cause of the fire is now examined by the police. The housing association takes care of a possible alternative accommodation for the other residents.
