Mobile phone theft at the petrol station: Caution when refueling in Mainz!

On May 18, 2025, around 11:40 a.m. at the Jet petrol station on Wormser Strasse in Mainz, theft. A 49-year-old driver left her cell phone unsecured during the tank process. When she went to the petrol station building to pay, an unknown perpetrator slipped into the vehicle in the short absence of the woman and stole the mobile phone.

The Mainz police are now investigating this incident and urges to keep valuable in the car and always complete the vehicle when you leave. Investigators advise caution to prevent further thefts.
