Hanover celebrates Kirchentag: Police draws a positive security balance!

Hannover, Deutschland - The Hanover Police Directorate is drawn to the 39th German Evangelical Church Day, which took place from April 30 to May 4, 2025. Despite the implementation of around 1,500 individual events in the city center and on the exhibition center, larger security incidents were not recorded. A total of only 90 criminal and administrative offenses were registered, which is considered remarkably low with regard to the high number of visitors.

In addition, 35 administrative offenses were punished, including 25 traffic violations. For the first time, the police relied on modern communication: in addition to her social media channel on "X", she informed about a new WhatsApp channel. Police vehicles wore QR codes to provide the participants and the public central information about the Kirchentag. The security situation remained stable and satisfactory over the entire event.
