On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the home festival parade took place in Schwelm, which despite the high temperatures was mostly easy thanks to the use of the fire brigade and the red cross. From 11:00 a.m. and throughout the day, a technical operations management was active to coordinate more than 100 emergency services and to ensure that safety was guaranteed during the parade.
The situation on site remained calm overall, and fortunately there were no serious incidents. Overall, the Medical Service of the Red Cross, led by Markus Wienert, had to be called 14 times. Nevertheless, only two people could be transported to a hospital, which is considered a positive sign. The fire brigade also remained almost without any significant operations and focused on offering support participants through refreshing measures with extinguishing water.
emergency services show commitment
The overall operations manager Markus Kosch and Mayor Stephan Langhard expressed their gratitude towards the emergency services in the evening. They praised the excellent commitment that contributed to successfully ending the day without successfully ending the day and thus contributing to a nice and safe local festival.
A special thanks also went to the Witten fire brigade, which supported its special unit for information and communication technology and the operational control car 2 of the Ennepe-Ruhr district in Schwelm. This comprehensive cooperation between the various units not only underlines the professionalism of the emergency services, but also the community spirit, which is particularly important in such situations.
The successful implementation of the home festival parade makes it clear how important well -organized and carried out plans are. The moment the city gathers so many citizens into a festival, responsibility for security is crucial. The engagement of the fire brigade and the Red Cross has contributed significantly to the fact that the festival could not only be performed, but also safely.
Finally, the course of the event shows that timely and well -planned measures by the emergency services can quickly defuse potential problems, which ultimately leads to a successful event. Another proof of how important community and preliminary planning are especially at public events.
