Control frenzy in Heiligenhaus: Police reveals serious violations!

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the regulatory authorities of the cities of Heiligenhaus and Velbert, together with the police and the main customs office, carried out a comprehensive control campaign in hairdressing salons and barbershops. A total of nine hairdressers and two nail studios were checked, with numerous violations of hygiene regulations and other legal requirements being found.

Particularly alarming: In two companies, the minimum wage was not paid and necessary hourly records were missing. There were also serious defects in the fire protection standards in two of the controlled shops. The records of the health insurers were objected to in almost all companies, and in Velbert there was a dramatic incident when an employee tried to flee before it could be caught by the emergency services. In this incident, there was suspicion of a violation of the right of residence.

The district police authority Mettmann sees the joint commitment as a success and integrates the information obtained into its “project zoom”, which includes targeted measures to combat crime.
