District fire brigade Rotenburg practices against disaster in Celle-Scheuen
Last weekend, the Rotenburg-Mitte district fire brigade was active in the technology and training center of the Lower Saxony State Office for Fire and Disaster Protection (NLBK). In an exciting two-day exercise, the fire brigade simulated a disaster in the Celle district, in which support from Rotenburg (Wümme) was quickly requested. The highlight of the exercise was a dramatic use when a car crashed into a truck that was loaded with sulfuric acid. After an explosion, the driver of the truck jumped out of his vehicle, while the dangerous utility immediately reached the site. Fortunately, nobody was in the car, but the fire brigade urgently had to secure the danger material and initiate the extinguishing work. After extensive exploration, it turned out that no sulfuric acid had leaked! The exercise ended at 11 a.m. and the firefighters prepared for the return trip. The catering group ensured lunch together before the return to the district of Rotenburg began. After around 30 hours the exercise was successfully completed!
