Cow causes chaos in Mannheim: All attempts to rescue fail!

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, a runaway cow on Elly-Beinhorn-Straße in Mannheim caused excitement! The police were alerted around 5:20 p.m. when the animal ran around uncontrollably. Despite the intensive efforts of residents and passers -by, the cow remained unreasonable and even bumped into a scooter. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

The situation escalated when the cow ran towards the railway line, which led to a warning message to Deutsche Bahn. The trains then adapted their speed to ensure the safety of humans and animals. The police, animal rescue, veterinary office and hunting tenant were on site, but all attempts to capture the aggressive cow failed. Finally, the animal had to be stunned by animal rescue employees, which resulted in an 80-minute blocking of the railway line. At 10:40 p.m. the cow could finally be brought back to her enclosure safely.
