Truck accident in Schwanbeck: Gasleck ensures chaos and closure!

A serious incident shakes Schwanbeck near Friedland: A truck driver damaged a guest tank on the site of a family home this morning, causing a considerable amount of gas. The passage through the town was closed immediately, while the fire brigade and the police were working on the site. The fire brigade had the gas quit in a controlled manner, but will take several days to empty the tank. The gas tank has now been largely closed and removed to another property.

The accident resulted in an estimated total damage of at least 170,000 euros. In addition, part of the house wall was damaged, which caused water to penetrate into the basement of the affected homeowner. Fortunately, there have been no injuries so far, while the residents had left their houses at some point. The truck driver, a German, was not alcoholic. The use of the rescue workers continues and the situation remains tense.
