Police report for Saturday, July 6th, 2024: Taxi fraud and drunk driving

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, two incidents occurred in Leer and Moormerland, in which the police had to intervene. A 36-year-old man from Moormerland bruised a taxi and resisted the police officers. In Leer a 35-year-old driver was stopped at the tax due to drunkenness.

A attentive witness reported a drunk trip to the police on Friday at 11 a.m. on Friday. The driver of the car drove from Leer drove into strong snake lines and parked his vehicle unsafe. During the check, the officials found that the driver was heavily alcoholic. A blood sample was carried out and the onward journey was prohibited.

Moormerland: Taxi fraud and resistance to police

In Moormerland, an incident occurred in Königsstrasse shortly after midnight. A 36-year-old man took a taxi to his residential address and refused to pay the trip. When the police intervened, the man refused to provide his personal details and showed himself aggressively. A police officer was even beaten, whereupon the man was taken into custody. Two officers were slightly injured. The man is now charged with taxi fraud, insult and assault against enforcement officers.
