Man in custody after attempted predatory extortion in flower business

A 26-year-old man is suspected of trying to attack a flower shop on Bachstrasse on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Thanks to the quick reaction of a brave witness, the perpetrator was overwhelmed and handed over to the police.

The incident occurred around 9.15 a.m. when the suspect entered the business and claimed cash from the employees while maintaining a weapon. Fortunately, a 50-year-old passerby noticed the situation and immediately intervened. Together with other people present, he managed to hold the perpetrator until the police arrived.

When the preliminary arrest, a shotgun was ensured that the accused carried with him. It turned out that the same man had committed a similar attack on the flower shop a week earlier. Because of this, the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant against the predominant German.

The accused was brought up to the judge, who confirmed the arrest warrant and put it in execution. The man was taken to a correctional hospital to clarify the further steps.

Thanks to the courageous intervention of the witness, worse could be prevented. It shows how important it is to be aware of in emergency situations and to proceed together against crime.
