Orange ball ensures nightly fire brigade in Detmold!

In the early morning hours of May 11, 2025, the Detmold fire brigade was alerted to a spectacular commitment. At 3:58 a.m. the emergency call entered that a huge "orange ball" should block the Braker Straße / Barntruper Straße intersection. But what the emergency services found was less dramatic than expected: the impressive ball, heavy like two tons and with a diameter of around 4.5 meters, was peaceful in a bush on the edge of the northern ring.

The Detmold fire brigade reacted quickly and professionally. While the firefighters secured the site, they also supported the police in the risk of danger. A damaged street lamp was also included in the measures. Fortunately, nobody was injured, and after clarification of the situation, the emergency services were soon able to move away. A nightly dödel that remained without greater consequences!
