Pepper spray robbery in Sindelfingen: cell phone trigger fails!

An unscrupulous perpetrator tried to scare a 35-year-old man with pepper spray on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, after stolen a cell phone. The man had offered the smartphone for several hundred euros via an online platform and met with the unknown in Neckarstrasse to discuss the sale. Suddenly the thief ran away with his cell phone towards Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Straße.

The 35-year-old persecuting the smartphone was sprayed with irritant several times, but was able to provide the perpetrator. There was a scramble in which the man's wife regrained the cell phone. Despite slight injuries, the 35-year-old released the perpetrator who fled towards a nearby furniture store. The criminal is described as a southern type, between 18 and 23 years old, about 180 cm tall and strong. He was wearing bright jogging pants, a light top, a black vest and white sports shoes as well as a bright hat.
