The police escorted goose family: animal rescue operation in Zweibrücken!
On Thursday morning, a Nilgan family on the L471 between the Bubenhauser Kreisel and Contwig caused excitement. Several road users reported that the geese populated the street and thereby disabled traffic - a scene that was both amusing and dangerous.
The police officers of the Zweibrücken police inspection called an “animal mission group” on the scene and met on site for a large goose family with ten lively chicks and their two parents. But not everyone was in the best condition: a baby goose turned out to be injured and could no longer run independently. The brave police team picked up the injured chick and brought it to an veterinary clinic, where it is now medical care and being put on. In the meantime, the other geese were safely directed from the street.
