Police Hamburg checks weapon ban zone: 41 dangerous objects secured!

Hamburger Stadtgebiet, Deutschland - The Hamburg police carried out intensive control of the weapon ban in public transport on May 8, 2025. Over 200 civil servants checked around 2,850 people throughout the city from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The aim of the campaign was to identify dangerous objects in public transport and to sensitize the public via the ban on carrying out.

The result of the controls was alarming: a total of 41 dangerous objects were ensured, including 34 knives, a whipping ring and an irritant sprayer. The police also initiated 28 criminal complaints, including four for violations of the Weapons Act and nine against the Narcotics Act. The Hamburg police announced that these measures continue to continue in the future to ensure the security of citizens and to consistently punish any violations.
