Police museum Hamburg: Special exhibition on Nazi victims opened!

Policemuseum Hamburg, Carl-Cohn-Straße 39, 22297 Hamburg, Deutschland - On May 8, 2025, the Hamburg police museum opens its gates to the special exhibition "Between forced care and the KZ - poor and unadjusted people in National Socialist Hamburg". On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, the exhibition is expanded to include specific content on the role of the police in National Socialism. This long overlooked sacrificial group, consisting of people who have been persecuted as "anti -social", experiences a comprehensive presentation here. Thousands were incapacitated, forced sterilized or deported to concentration camps.

The exhibition, which will be shown by September 11, 2025, illuminates the stories of hundreds of Hamburgers who suffered from the Nazi regime. It also shows how welfare institutions and the police were involved in the systematic exclusion. Interested media representatives are invited to register by May 8, 2025.
