Robbery theft: man steals shoes and escapes from the police!

On May 20, 2025, a brazen robbery occurred in a shoe store on the Rostock Chaussee in 18437. A 41-year-old man entered the shop, took a few shoes from a box, removed the theft protection and put on it. He deposited his old shoes in the empty box and wanted to leave the business without payment. Employees confronted him, whereupon he verbally threatened and pushed aside an employee to flee.

The alarmed police were quickly on hand. Thanks to a rapid near -area search, the suspect could be caught a little later. During the inspection, it turned out that he was already known to the police because of similar offenses and was under the influence of alcohol - a breath alcohol test resulted in a value of around 1.5 per thousand. The stolen shoes, worth around 60 euros, were secured and returned to the business. Investigations for predatory theft and threat were initiated. The thief had to start his journey home in his old shoes.
