In Schüttorf kam es zu einem schweren Verkehrsunfall vor der Diskothek INDEX, als ein alkoholisierter Fahrer flüchtete.

In the early morning hours, a dramatic traffic accident occurred in front of the Index discotheque in Industriestrasse. A 27-year-old man, apparently strongly alcoholized, wanted to endanger employees and guests of the discotheque after dealing with security with an Opel Corsa. After he rose into the vehicle for unauthorized, he touched the parked Renault Clio of a guest and fled from the scene of the accident.

The chaotic scenes took an abrupt end when the driver collided with a tree at the crossroads fourth circular route/industrial road, which led to the overload of the vehicle. Both the driver and several witnesses were looked after on site, while the police are now determining the exact circumstances of the incident and possible criminal consequences.
