Rapid escape in Hameln: cannabis, chaos and no driving license!
on Sunday, April 27, 2025, officers from the Hameln police made a shocking discovery during a traffic control. A 23-year-old man raced in a gray Seat Leon at over 200 km/h after he resisted the police attending signals. Together with his two passengers, he tried to flee, ran red traffic lights and endangered numerous road users. Finally, the persecuting police came on track in Emmerthal, where all three men finally fled on foot but were quickly caught.
During the check, it turned out that the 23-year-old was traveling without a valid driving license and was under the influence of cannabis. The car also led a 21-year-old passenger from Salzhemmendorf to another surprise, in which cannabis was found in a not small amount. The Hanover public prosecutor already published search commands for the suspects' apartments on the same day. Although all three men were temporarily arrested, they were able to leave the police station later. The legal consequences for the daredevils are now imminent, including allegations for driving without a driver's license, forbidden motor vehicle race and suspicion of trade in drugs.
