Rapid chase near Böhl-iggelheim: drivers arrested under suspicion of drugs

Böhl-iggelheim, Haßloch (ots)

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Schifferstadt police inspection was informed of a strikingly moving car. A concerned citizen reported that a black Mini Cooper on the L532 towards Limburgerhof drove “snake lines” in a questionable manner and acted ruthlessly. These dangerous driving maneuvers not only alerted the caller, but also the police, who immediately published emergency services to check the situation.

The emergency services were finally able to find the Mini Cooper in question on the B9 towards Speyer. When trying to control the vehicle, however, the driver ignored the police officers. Instead, he tried to evade control through risky driving maneuvers and excessive speed. The dangerous overtaking process led him over the A61 and the A65 before finally taking the L529 towards Haßloch.

The persecution and arrest

The persecution trip was particularly dangerous. The 33-year-old driver showed ruthless behavior that not only endangered his own security, but also that of the other road users. Ultimately, the Mini Cooper could be stopped in Haßloch after an extensive persecution. The police and drivers met, which quickly brought the situation under control. The driver was not only classified as irresponsible, but also brought legal problems with him, because it turned out that he had no driver's license and was suspected of consuming drugs.

In order to determine the exact drug influence, a blood sample was taken from the driver. These measures are important to ensure security on the streets and prevent such dangerous trips in the future. Appropriate criminal proceedings were also initiated against the driver. The police point out that the incident will result in serious consequences for the person concerned.

call for witness reports

This incident has shown how important it is to report suspicious activities in road traffic quickly. The police therefore encourage witnesses or victims who may have been at risk during the persecution of the Mini Cooper or have made observations to contact the Schifferstadt police inspection immediately.
