insight into the youth crime: robbery in Bochum city center
Bochum (ots)
The Bochum city center was the scene of a robbery in the early morning of August 9, which not only affects the direct participant, but also raises far -reaching questions about juvenile crime. A 25-year-old Bochum was robbed by four young people after he was traveling around 2 a.m. in the Hermannshöhe/Klever Weg area.
overview of the incident
For unknown reasons, the man was addressed by the young perpetrators and, without warning, came to the ground. The situation quickly escalated when the perpetrators asked him to publish his wallet and mobile phone. Then fled towards the University Straße. Fortunately, the 25-year-old only suffered minor injuries and did not need the help of an ambulance.
The perpetrators in detail
The police describe the perpetrators as three young men and a young woman whose age is between 14 and 18 years old. Witnesses report an appearance that was perceived as "Southeast European origin". All three male perpetrators are striking slim and around 180 cm tall. The first perpetrator had black short hair and wore a black T-shirt and black jogging pants. Another perpetrator caught up through blonde short hair and a blonde beard and had a Gucci bag with him. The third man had brown curly hair.
The young woman, who was also involved in the incident, is described as about 160 cm tall with strikingly small eyes and was dressed in a white jeans jacket and smeared glasses at the time of the crime.
The search for witnesses
The criminal police have started the investigation and is looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident or the perpetrators. Information can be reported under the phone numbers 0234 909-8105 or -4441 (crime guard).
social effects and prevention
This incident is also highlighting a growing problem that affects many cities: the increase in youth offenses. The question of what is behind such violent attacks not only concerns the police, but also sociologists and social workers. In particular, the debts, the pressure on young people, and lack of perspectives are often the roots for such behavior. A social discussion about prevention measures, such as through young people leisure activities and educational projects, is urgently necessary.
