Ambulance accident in Weißensee: three people injured!

Weißensee, Deutschland - Yesterday afternoon there was a dramatic traffic accident in Weißensee with an ambulance on a ride. At around 1:30 p.m., an 84-year-old man drove in his VW on Piesporter Straße when the ambulance transported a 78-year-old patient to the hospital with flashing lights and Martinshorn. When trying to drive past the VW, the older driver overlooked the ambulance and turned left into Bitburger Straße. There was a collision that hurled the VW against a parked truck.

The consequences were serious: the 84-year-old, the driver and the co-driver of the ambulance contracted injuries and had to be admitted to hospitals. The ambulance was no longer ready to drive, whereby another ambulance took over the transport of the patient, which was luckily unharmed. The police have taken over the investigation and checks the exact circumstances of the incident.
