Giant fire in Leverkusen: garden hut in flames, residents in danger!

On May 30, 2025 at 10:15 p.m., the fire department in Leverkusen was alerted by several emergency calls about a fire in Ratherfärp. The emergency services of the professional fire brigade and the Bürrig and Wiesdorf volunteer fire brigade immediately moved out, while emergency services were also on site. On site it turned out that a garden hut was in full fire that was structurally connected to adjacent residential buildings.

To protect the residential buildings, several operations were formed. The challenge was the difficult fire location in the back of the property. During the operation, the firefighters discovered several gas bottles in cultivation, which were recovered and secured by the emergency services. A total of around 40 emergency services were used to control the flames and prevent spreading to the residential buildings.
